Lang ist's her... / It's been a long time...

Hallo alle zusammen,
hier ist Jule. Da Natalie und ich erst im Sommer in unsere Austauschländer aufbrechen werden, gab es bei uns in letzter Zeit noch nicht sonderlich viel zu berichten.
Jetzt gibt es aber erste große Neuigkeiten: Ich habe mein Abflugdatum erfahren! Am 16.August 2017 heißt es für mich "Auf Wiedersehen Deutschland - Buenos Dias Costa Rica!!!" Mit den anderen deutschen Austauschschülern, die am Costa Rica Programm 2017/18 von YFU teilnehmen, werde ich nach San José, die Hauptstadt von Costa Rica, fliegen. Was dann dort mit mir passiert, kann ich mir im Moment nur erträumen, leider weiß ich noch nicht, wer meine Gastfamilie sein wird.
Das ist aber noch nicht alles, was in den letzten Tagen passiert ist. Vom 17.-22.03.2017 war ich auf der YFU-VBT (Vorbereitungstagung) in Lauenburg, einer Kleinstadt bei Hamburg. Dort erhielten ich und 33 andere Austauschschüler zahlreiche Informationen, Tricks und Tipps rund um unser Auslandsjahr.
Ich möchte an dieser Stelle nicht zu viel davon berichten, einerseits weil Natalie ihre VBT noch vor sich hat, andererseits weil möglicherweise jemand von euch sich auch noch dazu entschließen könnte, ein Auslandsjahr mit YFU zu verbringen, und ich auf keinen Fall etwas vorwegnehmen will, aber so viel lass gesagt sein: abgesehen davon, dass meine Aufregung und Vorfreude auf das Jahr im Ausland erheblich gesteigert wurden und ich trotzdem etwas Sicherheit und Gelassenheit im Hinblick auf meinen Aufenthalt in Costa Rica bekommen habe, war diese Tagung ein einfach unglaubiches Erlebnis, sowohl die Teilnehmer als auch die Betreuer (Teamer genannt) waren super drauf und wir hatten extrem viel Spaß. Also wenn ihr Bedenken haben solltet, ob es wirklich sinnvoll ist, eine 5-tägige VBT zu veranstalten: es lohnt sich wirklich, ich möchte keine Minute meiner Zeit dort missen!
Soviel also zu meinen letzten Pre-Auslandsjahr-Erlebnissen. Der nächste große Schritt wird wahrscheinlich sein, zu erfahren, wer meine Gastfamilie sein wird. Wenn das passiert, werdet ihr bestimmt wieder mal etwas hören. :)

Hello everyone,
here is Jule. Since Natalie and I will not leave for our exchange countries until summer, there wasn't a lot to tell in the last weeks.
But now there are the first big news: I got to know my date of departure! On August 16, 2017 I will say "Goodbye Germany - Buenos Dias Costa Rica!!!" Together with the other German exchange students taking part in the Costa Rica program 2017/18 of YFU I will fly to San José, the capital of Costa Rica. What happens to me there I can only imagine at the moment, unfortunately I don't know yet who will be my host family.
But this is not everything that has happend in the last days. From March 17 to March 22 2017 I was at the YFU preparation days in Lauenburg, a town near Hamburg. There, me and 33 other exchange students received lots of information and advices for our year abroad.
I don't want to talk too much about it now, on the one hand because Natalie is going to spend these preparation days herself later and and on the other hand because maybe one of you decides to spend a year abroad with YFU and I really don't want to spoil you, but let this be said: despite that my exitement and anticipation about the exchange year have risen immensely and though I got some safety and serenity regarding my stay abroad these days were an incredible experience, the participants as well as the teamers were in a great mood and it was extremely funny. So if you aren't sure if it is really useful to hold 5-day long preparation days: it is really worth it and I don't want to miss a single minute of my time there!
So these were my last pre-exchange year experiences. The next huge step will probably be to get to know who will be my host family. When this happens, you will surely be told. :)
